“Fit&Food…I feel good” is a school intervention programme to prevent obesity at Secondary School Level I, and which is carefully adapted to the school environment. This is a comprehensive and long-term evaluation, with a total of 334 male and female pupils in advanced conventional and special schools between 2004 and 2007.
The objective was to establish to what extent a standardised theory-based intervention in the school setting could help to improve the prevalence and incidence of overweight in the target group. The evaluation was based on a theoretical model over four points in time. It was shown that Fit&Food is a quality-assured and promising approach towards establishing obesity prevention during the school day and thus to reduce the prevalence and incidence of obesity in the target group in Secondary School Level I.
