The future health market – changing requirements beyond nutrition

U. Günther, Hannover

The German health system is a subject of evaluation and criticism by the public, by politicians and the professions concerned. The theory of long waves suggests, however, that the health system will gain in economic importance in the next decades.

Health understood as a somato-psycho-sociogenic unit will change our understanding of the services provided by health professionals. The author outlines the extent of cooperation needed to recognize novel working fields and a change in existing ones, and to adequately respond to changing requirements. Ecotrophologists should talk about what contribution they are willing to make to promote the ability to cooperate.
